More in Ethernet
CAT6 cabling for structured runs and patching, covering bulk reel stock and pre-terminated patch leads in one range of 38 products.
Bulk cable is supplied on 100m and 305m reels, in solid copper (0.52mm) or CCA conductors, with outdoor-rated PE-jacketed black stock for external runs and standard UTP for internal first fix.
Patch leads run from 2m up to 30m, RJ45-terminated, in black, white or blue, for patching cabinets, connecting cameras or NVRs to switches, and final device drops.
How to choose
- Conductor: solid copper for permanent first-fix installs needing best conductivity and PoE performance; CCA where budget stock is acceptable for shorter, lower-power runs.
- Jacket: PE outdoor-rated jacket for external or below-ground first fix; standard UTP for internal containment only.
- Format: 100m or 305m reels for first-fix cable runs; fixed-length 2m–30m patch leads for cabinet and device connections.
- Length: pick a patch lead length matching the run rather than coiling excess slack, which affects cable management in racks.
All stock is Cat6, so 1000BASE-T gigabit performance is supported across the range; actual throughput on PoE camera runs still depends on conductor type and cable length.
CAT6 — frequently asked questions
What's the difference between solid copper and CCA Cat6 cable?
Solid copper (0.52mm) conductors offer better conductivity and are preferred for permanent installs and PoE runs; CCA (copper-clad aluminium) is a lower-cost alternative for shorter or lower-power runs.
Can I use this Cat6 cable outdoors?
Yes — the range includes PE-jacketed outdoor-rated Cat6 UTP on 100m and 305m reels, alongside standard indoor UTP stock.
Does Cat6 in this range support PoE for CCTV cameras?
Cat6 supports PoE, but achievable power and data performance depend on conductor type (solid copper vs CCA) and total cable length on the run.
What lengths do the pre-made patch leads come in?
Patch leads in this range run from 2m up to 30m, in black, white or blue, all RJ45-terminated.
