4MP IP cameras

4MP sits at the practical sweet spot for most trade installs: sharper than 2MP for identification at range, without the bandwidth and storage load of 4K/8MP. This range covers bullet, turret and PTZ form factors across fixed and motorised varifocal lenses, all PoE.

How to choose

• Form factor — bullets (DS-2CD2T47G2-L, DS-2CD2646G2-IZSU/SL) for visible deterrent and long throw; turrets (DS-2CD2347G2-LSU/SL, DS-2CD1343G2-LIUF/SL, DS-2CD2347G2H-LISU/SL) for discreet eaves/soffit mounting; PTZ (DS-2DE4425IW-DE, DS-2DE4A425IW-DE, DS-2DE3A400BW-DE/W-F1) where active tracking or wide coverage from one pole is needed.
• Lens — fixed-focal turrets suit set-and-forget install; motorised varifocal units (DS-2CD2646G2-IZSU/SL, DS-2CD2H45FWD-IZS) let you fine-tune field of view on site without swapping hardware.
• Illumination — ColorVu models hold colour in low light; Smart/Hybrid Light variants combine IR with white light for dual-mode scenes; the DS-2DE4425IW-DE and DS-2DE4A425IW-DE PTZs offer 100m and 50m IR ranges respectively for perimeter work.
• Zoom — both listed PTZ units carry 25× optical zoom, differing mainly in IR reach.
• Power — all units in this range are PoE, simplifying single-cable runs to an NVR or PoE switch.
