What it is
The Hikvision iDS-7204HUHI-M1/XT is a 4-channel, 1U hybrid DVR built for sites mixing analogue and IP cameras under one recorder.
Input flexibility
It reads five signal types on the same channel — HDTVI, AHD, CVI, CVBS and IP — so existing coax runs stay in use while IP cameras are added. The recorder handles up to 4 analogue inputs directly and expands to up to 8 IP camera channels, each supporting resolutions up to 8MP.
Analytics
AcuSense deep-learning analytics classify humans and vehicles separately from environmental triggers such as shadows or animals, cutting false alarms. The unit supports either 2-channel facial recognition or 4-channel advanced perimeter protection — these two modes are not run together. AcuSearch technology is supported across all 4 channels, and motion detection and HDTVI two-way audio are available on every channel.
Recording and storage
Recording tops out at 4K/8MP at 8fps on a single channel, or 3K/5MP at 12fps, encoded in H.265 to manage file sizes and bandwidth. One SATA HDD up to 12TB is supported. HDMI and VGA outputs run simultaneously up to 2560×1440, and RS-485 is included for PTZ control alongside Ethernet and USB interfaces.
