Product Description
What it does
This transmitter/receiver pair carries an HDMI signal over CAT5e or CAT6 UTP cable via RJ45 ports, replacing a long HDMI run with structured cabling — useful where a DVR or NVR sits well away from the monitor in a rack or control room.
Key specs
- Distance: up to 30 metres over CAT6 cable, wired to IEEE-568B standard
- Resolution: supports 1080P
- Signal rate: up to 2.5 Gbps
- HDCP: not supported on this unit
- Power: no external power supply required
- Setup: plug-and-play transmitter/receiver pair, no configuration needed
- Form factor: compact, suited to patch panels and equipment racks
Wiring
Connect the RJ45 port on the transmitter to the RJ45 port on the receiver using CAT5e or CAT6 network cable wired to IEEE-568B. Use CAT6 where the full 30 metre reach is needed.
Where it's used
Common in CCTV installs, AV systems and control-room setups extending HDMI video and audio to DVRs, NVRs, monitors and TVs beyond standard HDMI cable length limits, using existing structured cabling infrastructure.
Note for integrators
Because HDCP is not supported, this unit is not suited to sources or displays that enforce HDCP handshake — check the DVR/NVR and monitor combination before specifying on a job.
