Product Description
Spec-first: what this lead is and isn't
This is a 10m CAT6 UTP patch cord, RJ45 to RJ45, T568B wired both ends — a straight-through lead for switch-to-NVR, NVR-to-workstation or PC drop connections, no crossover needed.
Conductors are 24AWG CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium), stranded, rated for 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet to 100m and 250MHz bandwidth — ahead of CAT5e spec and backward-compatible with CAT5e infrastructure. UTP construction, no shielding, so route away from heavy EMI sources as standard practice on any horizontal run.
Be clear on CCA vs pure copper before specifying this on a job: CCA is cost-optimised for non-critical horizontal runs and general data connections. The SOURCE explicitly flags it as not recommended for PoE++ or 10GBase-T backbone applications — for high-power PoE camera runs or backbone links, spec pure copper instead.
Termination is gold-plated RJ45 with snagless moulded boots, protecting the retention clip during repeated rack and patch panel insertion — useful where leads get reseated often during commissioning or fault-finding.
Where it fits on a CCTV job
- Switch/NVR to camera drop or workstation, within standard Gigabit LAN segments
- Rack-to-wall-outlet or NVR-to-operator-desk runs at 10m
- Mixed CAT5e/CAT6 estates, since it's backward compatible
White PVC jacket keeps control room and desk runs visually tidy where cable colour coding matters.
Not covered by this SKU
No shielding (UTP only), no stated fire rating, and CCA conductors aren't specified for outdoor or PoE++ duty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this cable suitable for PoE++ camera runs?
No — the SOURCE states this CCA construction is not recommended for PoE++ or 10GBase-T backbone applications; use pure copper for those.
What wiring standard is used?
T568B straight-through wiring at both RJ45 ends, so it connects switches, NVRs, routers or PCs directly without a crossover adapter.
Is it shielded?
No, it's UTP (unshielded twisted pair), so keep runs clear of heavy EMI sources as with any unshielded CAT6 lead.
Will it work with CAT5e equipment?
Yes, the 250MHz CAT6 spec is backward compatible with CAT5e, so it integrates into mixed Gigabit/Fast Ethernet infrastructure.
