Product Description
What it is
A CAT5e-to-BNC balun terminator: male BNC connector on one end, stripped wires on the other, in red colour-coding.
The stripped-wire end terminates onto your CAT5e run for the video conductors; the male BNC end plugs into the camera or DVR/NVR's BNC video socket. This is a video-signal connector — confirm separately how your power feed is run to the camera.
Fitting notes
- Connector gender: male BNC — check your camera/DVR socket is female before ordering; this will not mate with another male plug.
- Termination: stripped-wire end requires hand-stripping and connecting to the CAT5e conductors — no crimp or screw terminal is fitted.
- Colour: red-coded, useful for keeping video runs distinct from other coloured baluns on multi-cable jobs.
- Build: durable construction rated for both indoor and outdoor CCTV installs.
Compatibility
Works across CAT5e-fed CCTV setups where a BNC video interface is needed at the camera or recorder end — suited to standard analogue/HD-over-coax style installs using BNC video connections.
On site
Keep the red marking consistent across a job so techs can trace video runs quickly during install or fault-finding, particularly on multi-camera CAT5e installs where several baluns terminate at a patch panel or NVR bank.
