Install notes
The camera joins the customer's home WiFi network during setup, so the only cable to route is the power lead supplied with it. Power quality still matters after dark, because the IR LEDs draw more current at night.
Black or flickering image at night
Check these in order:
- Power supply: confirm the adapter rating and the cable length and quality. A weak supply or a long run causes voltage drop, which shows up as flicker or a black screen.
- IR cut filter: this mechanical filter should move aside at night. If it sticks, it blocks IR light and the image goes dark.
