5MP Kits — FAQs
What retention do kits in this range give?
Retention depends on drive size, camera count and recording resolution. Per TB, continuous, single camera: 5MP ≈ 46 days. Median for the range: 46 days. Every card carries the kit's own estimate; record on motion only for longer retention.
Channels vs cameras?
Channels = the cameras a recorder can take; cameras = what ships in the box. Recorders in the range run 4 to 16 channels. Spare channels mean expansion later without swapping the recorder.
What ships in the box?
A recorder (NVR on IP kits, DVR on Turbo HD) plus matched cameras, cross-checked. Every kit in the range ships with an HDD. Full contents with model numbers are on each kit page.
5MP CCTV kits: DVR/NVR, cameras and HDD in one part number
A 5MP kit bundles a recorder, matched 5MP cameras and a hard drive under a single SKU, so the whole job spec's from one line. This range spans 8-channel and 16-channel DVR and NVR kits, with camera counts from two to three per kit and 6TB HDDs fitted as standard across the listed sets.
How to choose
- Channel count — 8-channel kits (Prolux PXD-5208AN-4KL-X-8P, Dahua DH-XVR5108H-4KL-X-8P, XVR-3108HS-5MP-LITE) suit smaller sites; 16-channel kits (XVR-3116HS-5MP-LITE, Prolux PXD-8216-HYK4MP) leave headroom for future cameras.
- DVR vs NVR — DVR kits here run HD-analogue turret/bullet cameras; NVR kits instead pair the recorder with IP-based cameras.
- Camera model/lens — check the exact model string: fixed-lens cameras like the Viper VIPER-5MP-3K-AOC-WHITE-2.8MM state focal length in the part number, while others carry different lens or PIR configurations.
All listed kits ship with a 6TB HDD as the recording drive.
