On-site use
IP55 covers dust ingress and water spray from any direction, which is the relevant rating for a wall-mounted mid-run junction on an external camera cable or a network link between buildings. It's not rated as fully waterproof or submersible, so don't specify it for immersion or high-pressure washdown locations.
Internal volume is limited but sufficient for a single cable joint, a couple of connectors, or a small in-line component — think camera-run extensions, PoE joins, or a tidy termination point mid-route rather than a distribution enclosure holding multiple circuits.
Mounts to wall or surface via the enclosure body; fixing centres aren't specified beyond the 85 × 85 × 50mm footprint, so check clearance against your install position before ordering in volume.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the IP55 rating actually protect against on this box?
IP55 means protection against dust ingress and against water spray directed from any angle — it is not a waterproof or submersion rating.
Can I use this outdoors on a CCTV cable run?
Yes, it's suitable for outdoor CCTV and networking cable joints thanks to its IP55 dust and spray protection, as long as it isn't submerged or jet-washed directly.
Does the box come with pre-cut cable entry glands?
No, the enclosure is adaptable — installers create their own cable entry points according to the installation requirements.
How much internal space is there for connectors?
The 85 x 85 x 50mm enclosure has compact internal space suited to a cable joint or a small number of connectors, not larger multi-circuit wiring.
