The DS-3E0109P-E/M is an unmanaged Fast Ethernet PoE switch aimed at CCTV and general network infrastructure work. It gives installers eight PoE-enabled ports for cameras, wireless access points or other PoE devices, plus a dedicated uplink port back to the core network or NVR.
Both 802.3af and 802.3at are supported, so the switch can serve a mix of standard and higher-draw PoE devices, each port capable of up to 30 W. Intelligent PoE management monitors overall power consumption and adjusts distribution as the system approaches its limit, which helps protect the switch and connected equipment.
For long cable runs on a job — perimeter fencing, warehouse aisles, yard cameras — Extend mode supports PoE transmission out to around 300 m, useful where standard 100 m Ethernet limits would otherwise force a media converter or extra switch. Build quality is a metal, fan-free chassis rated with 6 kV surge protection, and it mounts on a desktop or wall to suit a cabinet or plant room install.
Switching capacity runs to approximately 1.8 Gbps with store-and-forward architecture, giving stable throughput for surveillance and general Ethernet traffic on site.
