This is a 100m boxed reel of Prysmian's H6242Y flat twin and earth cable in 2.5mm², grey PVC sheath — the branded BASEC-approved cable to spec when a client or consultant calls for Prysmian by name.

Construction

• Two PVC-insulated cores, brown line and blue neutral, laid flat either side of a bare copper CPC earth
• 2.5mm² plain annealed class 1 solid copper conductors, manufactured to BS EN 60228
• Flat profile PVC sheath, grey, suitable for walls, boards, trays, channels/trunking, or direct burial in plaster
• Can also be run in conduit where extra mechanical protection is called for

Rating and standards

• 300/500V rating, maximum operating temperature 70°C
• Certified to BS6004, BASEC approved
• Manufactured to the Prysmian twin and earth design under BS6004 and BS EN 60228, giving predictable stripping and termination behaviour at first fix

On the job

2.5mm² is the usual size for domestic and commercial small power circuits — ring and radial socket outlet circuits, fused spurs to local loads, and plant room small power. In a security/CCTV context this size is commonly pulled to feed mains into a DVR/NVR cabinet or a switched-mode PSU location. The flat profile clips neatly for containment runs, and solid conductors keep electrical characteristics consistent over the full 100m length. Supplied on a boxed reel for straightforward dispensing and measuring on site.
