The 600mm depth is the figure that matters when speccing this cabinet against equipment lists — it accommodates deeper 19" rack hardware such as network switches, patch panels, routers, NVRs and small rack servers, not just shallow patch gear.
18U gives enough vertical space to stack a patch panel, a managed switch and a PDU with room for cable management, without needing a full-height floor cabinet. For installers working structured cabling or CCTV control room builds, that's usually the deciding factor over a smaller 9U or 12U wall unit.
The steel enclosure with black powder-coat finish is built for equipment rooms, comms cupboards and CCTV control installations rather than showroom aesthetics. The lockable front door restricts physical access to terminated equipment while the cabinet stays open for cabling and hardware moves.
Ventilated panels support passive airflow — worth factoring into thermal planning if the rack will carry a PoE switch and NVR running continuously, since this cabinet has no stated active cooling.
Compatible with any standard 19-inch rack-mount hardware.
