500GB - 3.5" SATA Hard Drives - Ideal for 24/7 continuous recording

500GB 3.5" SATA HDD — DVR/NVR storage

A 500GB internal 3.5" SATA hard drive for CCTV recorders, supplied for installers fitting or upgrading DVR/NVR storage. Use it as a replacement drive on a failed unit or to populate a recorder shipped without a drive.

Installation is included with any CCTV kit or package, so specify it alongside a kit order rather than as a standalone fit.

What determines recording days

Actual retention on 500GB is not fixed — it depends on:

• Number of cameras connected to the recorder
• Video resolution and frame rate per channel
• Compression settings in use
• Recording schedule (continuous vs motion-triggered)

Motion-triggered recording uses less capacity than 24/7 continuous recording across the same period, so a spec'd install with motion detection will stretch further than one running full-time capture.

Before ordering

Confirm the target recorder's supported drive interface and physical drive size, and check the manufacturer's hard drive requirements (some DVR/NVR firmware enforces a compatibility list or capacity ceiling). This is a SATA interface, 3.5" form factor drive — verify the recorder's bay and interface match before fitting.

Suitable as a like-for-like swap on recorders already running a 500GB drive, or as the storage drive on a recorder supplied bare.
