Starting fresh — new cameras and new cableMost new systems

One network cable per camera carries the picture and the power, so there is no separate plug at each camera. This is what most new systems use.Also called: IP (PoE) system

Replacing an older system — the cable is already there

Reuses the round coax cable an older system left behind, so nobody has to run new cable through the walls.Also called: Turbo HD (coax) system

Not sure which one you have?

Look at the cable coming out of an existing camera. A thin, flat cable with a clip like a broadband cable is a network system — pick the first answer. A round cable with a screw-on metal end is coax — pick the second. If there is nothing on the wall yet, pick the first.Still unsure?
