Product Description
The KETTLE‑LEAD‑2M is a 2m UK mains power cable terminating in a BS1363 3‑pin fused plug at one end and an IEC C13 female connector at the other, commonly referred to as a kettle‑type lead in IT and security installations. It is manufactured using H05VV‑F 3×0.75mm² flexible PVC cable and is typically rated for up to 10A at 250VAC, supporting loads up to approximately 2300W when used on standard UK mains circuits. This makes it suitable for powering a wide range of equipment with IEC C14 inlets, including NVRs, DVRs, PoE/network switches, servers, monitors and standalone CCTV power supplies. The moulded UK plug is supplied with an internal 5A or 10A fuse depending on the specific variant, while the IEC C13 end is fully moulded with strain relief to withstand regular handling and movement in racks or under desks. The 2m length provides additional reach compared with 1–1.5m leads, giving more flexibility when routing from vertical or horizontal PDUs to mid‑ or upper‑U equipment, or from wall sockets to nearby network cabinets. The cable construction is BSi/ASTA approved, and the black PVC outer sheath is suitable for typical indoor environments such as control rooms, comms rooms and equipment racks. In security and AV infrastructures, this lead integrates with rack‑mount PDUs and UPS systems to provide reliable power distribution alongside structured cabling. It is commonly used to power IP video recorders, display monitors and ancillary equipment within the same cabinet, ensuring standardised IEC C13 connections throughout the installation. Individually moulded connectors and compliant construction help maintain electrical safety and mechanical robustness in professional deployments.
