Red polyethylene (PE/LDPE) outer sheath offers superior UV/moisture resistance compared to indoor PVC, enabling aerial catenary wiring, external duct installations or direct facade mounting per local mechanical support codes. The heavier 23AWG conductors provide lower resistance and insertion loss versus standard 24AWG cable, preserving PoE budget and Gigabit margins on extended external runs between network cabinets and field IP cameras, outdoor wireless APs or access control readers.
